The Victoria Crosses of the War in the Far East During WWII

The Victoria Cross (VC) is the highest award for gallantry that can be bestowed on a member of the British Armed Forces. It is awarded for "conspicuous bravery, or some daring or pre-eminent act of valour or self-sacrifice, or extreme devotion to duty in the presence of the enemy." During the Second World War, 38 VCs were awarded for actions in the Far East. These awards were made to men from a variety of backgrounds and units, and they represent some of the most extraordinary acts of heroism and self-sacrifice in the history of the British Army.
